Key Ingredients

Kokum Butter

Kokum butter is a light, intensely moisturizing plant butter suitable for all skin types. It has soothing and anti-inflammatory properties that help strengthen the skin's natural protective barrier. It also gives the Cleansing Balm its velvety, soft texture.

Jojoba Oil

Jojoba oil is similar in its chemical structure to the natural sebum of our skin. Thus, it cleanses the skin in a very mild way and protects it from drying out. At the same time, jojoba oil can penetrate deep into the skin to moisturize and revitalize it from the inside.

Castor Oil

Castor oil is rich in ricinoleic acid, which is particularly moisturizing and soothing. It helps to gently remove excess sebum and impurities without drying out the skin. Due to its clarifying properties, castor oil is ideal for the Oil Cleansing Method and leaves the skin soft and refreshed.

Passionfruit Oil

Passionfruit oil is rich in antioxidants and omega fatty acids, which protect and regenerate the skin. It soothes sensitive skin and promotes a naturally radiant complexion. Its light texture ensures optimal care without weighing the skin down.

Daisy Flower Extract

Daisy flower extract can help reduce redness as it has a calming and anti-inflammatory qualities. Antioxidants such as flavonoids and phenolic acid protect the skin from harmful environmental stresses and support skin health. Its clarifying properties reduce the appearance of impurities, making it quite suitable for face cleansing.

Product FAQ

How does cleansing the skin with oils work compared to traditional cleansing methods?

While conventional cleansing methods such as cleansing gels or foams are often based on water-based formulas and mostly contain surfactants, oil cleansing uses natural oils as the main ingredient. When cleansing with oils, the principle of "fat dissolves fat" is applied. Oils have the ability to effectively dissolve and remove excess sebum (skin oil), dirt, makeup and other impurities on the skin. In comparison, conventional cleansing methods often dry out the skin and compromise its natural protective barrier.

Another difference from conventional facial cleansing is that oil cleansing is often performed without rinsing off. The oils are gently massaged into the usually dry skin to release dirt and impurities. This gentle massage also loosens dead skin cells. The cleansing product is then removed with a warm, damp cloth. This not only cleanses the skin deep into the pores, but also moisturizes it and preserves its natural balance.

What are the advantages of using oils to cleanse the skin?

Here are some of the advantages of oil cleaning:

  • Gentle and gentle cleansing: Oils have a natural affinity for the skin and can gently loosen and remove dirt, excess sebum and impurities without putting too much stress on the skin barrier. Compared to some traditional cleansing methods that can cause dryness and irritation, oil cleansing remains gentle on the skin.
  • Moisturizing: While traditional cleansers often tend to dry out the skin, oils moisturize the skin. Oil cleansing helps maintain the skin's natural moisture balance, which can reduce dryness and feelings of tightness.
  • Protecting the natural lipid layer: skin has a protective lipid layer that serves to prevent moisture loss and ward off pollutants. Conventional cleansing methods can sometimes have a greater impact on this layer. Oil cleansing, on the other hand, helps maintain this lipid layer and helps strengthen the skin's natural barrier.
  • Soothing effect: Certain oils, such as jojoba oil or almond oil, can have soothing and anti-inflammatory properties. When skin is stressed and irritated, these oils can help calm the skin and reduce redness.
  • Better absorption of skin care products: Cleansing with oils frees the skin of debris and makes it more receptive to subsequent skin care products such as serums, moisturizers or masks. This allows the active ingredients in the care products to be absorbed more effectively by the skin.
  • Natural ingredients: Many oil cleansing products contain natural ingredients that are free of harmful chemicals and irritating substances. This can be particularly beneficial for people with sensitive skin, as it reduces the likelihood of skin irritation or allergic reactions.

Is oil cleansing only suitable for a special skin type?

Oil cleansing is basically suitable for all skin types:

  • Dry skin: Dry skin benefits from oil cleansing as it tends to be more permeable and retain less moisture. Moisture loss is prevented through the use of moisturizing and retaining oils. Skin feels nourished and supple after cleansing.
  • Combination skin: In combination skin, the T-zone (forehead, nose, chin) is often oilier than other areas of the face. Here, oil cleansing can help balance the skin overall. While excess sebum is removed, dry areas are balanced.
  • Oily skin: people with oily skin might be skeptical of oil cleansing at first, fearing that it will lead to even more skin shine. Surprisingly, oil cleansing is quite suitable for oily skin. The oils remove excess sebum and "train" the skin to produce less sebum itself in the long term.
