Wellness from the Atelier: How Our Natural Cosmetics Are Made
How many products in your beauty cabinet do you really know the origin of - where and how they are made? Probably very few.
For a long time, I made all my skincare products myself and later learned the craft from professionals to develop safe and personalized formulations. This knowledge has grown over the years and flows directly into the recipes for our products. We don’t rely on pre-made formulations often stored “in the drawer” by manufacturers; instead, we create everything from scratch.
This is the essence of handmade products: I know exactly what goes into them, where the ingredients and final product come from, and who makes them. I wanted to bring this magic into my natural cosmetics as well. But I also knew that I wanted a professional to handle production and packaging. That’s how we came to offer self-developed, wellness-inspired natural cosmetics of artisan quality.
What Does Artisan Quality Mean for BYUTYFUL?
It stands for high quality, the finest ingredients, craftsmanship, expertise, smaller batches, individuality, and a deep awareness of sustainability—unlike mass-produced industrial goods. We are proud to have found the perfect partner: a small production facility in Austria with whom we work closely to create our wellness-inspired natural cosmetics.

Our products carry the Austria Bio Garantie label. This certification ensures compliance with Austria’s rigorous standards for organic cosmetics—the most comprehensive legal framework for organic beauty production in the EU. Most of our ingredients come from certified organic farming, and each one is selected with care. Some active ingredients are expensive to source, and to truly benefit the skin, they must be used in optimal concentrations (e.g., the Glycoin in our Verbena Toner). We follow the principle: Powerful yet simple, prioritizing quality over quantity.
Craftsmanship & Individuality
Nature isn’t always the same. Even if you buy the same essential oil from the same supplier, its scent can vary slightly depending on the harvest. These are subtle differences, but they are part of the charm. Similarly, products of artisan quality may vary slightly because they are lovingly made by hand. Think of how a baker strives for their bread to be of the highest quality while slight differences in appearance give it character. In the same way, we aim for precision in the effect, texture, and feel of our products, knowing that there might be slight variations from batch to batch. This uniqueness is what makes artisan products so special.
